About Our Virtual Counseling Services
Kayla Hemphill Counseling is happy to offer a virtual alternative to our typical in-person counseling sessions. We began offering these services during the COVID-19 pandemic, but these services will be available indefinitely after in-person services return.
Secure & Private Video Calls
We use a secure and HIPAA compliant telehealth platform to conduct virtual sessions, so you can trust that our virtual sessions are just as safe and confidential as our in-person services.
Virtual Counseling FAQ
How do I schedule a virtual appointment?
You can book a virtual session the same way that you would book our in-person counseling services. Simply click here to schedule your appointment online, and follow the simple steps to log in and find a time that works best for you.
Do I need to register with a video call service?
No! Our virtual sessions will take place through TheraNest Telehealth, which is the same service that you use to book an appointment. Therefore, you do not need an additional account with a service like Zoom. The telehealth services are fully integrated with your client portal, so you can begin sessions from there or via a secret link delivered to your email address.
What is required for virtual sessions?
To participate in virtual counseling sessions, you will need a stable internet connection as well as a device with a microphone and a webcam. The microphone and webcam can be external devices plugged in to your computer, or built-in to your laptop, smart phone, or tablet. The session can begin in any internet browser, so you do not need to download any additional apps to participate.
How are virtual sessions different from in-person sessions?
To make virtual sessions just as effective as in-person sessions, our counselors aim to offer their full attention and expertise to these long-distance services. We are fully equipped, and make the most of the technology available to us to provide excellent virtual care.
While participating in a virtual session, we ask that you please remain present with your counselor just like you would during an in-person session. Please refrain from using other apps or browsing the internet on your device, and try to remain in one location for the duration of the appointment so that your internet connection is not disturbed. By offering the same level of attention to a virtual session that you would to an in-person session, we can help provide you with the best level of care!
